Chere Eileen Holding(nee Smith) passed away peacefully at the age of 81 on January 17, 2026 with her family at her side. 

Chere was born in Preston England to William and Eileen Smith and moved to Canada with her husband and family in May of 1979. 

Family was everything to her and she loved spending time with them enjoying a meal, a game of cribbage or dominoes, and just being together. 

She will be greatly missed by her husband John, her children Sarah (Shane), James (Mandy) and Emily (Eric) and her grandchildren Caleb, Jake and Lilymay. 

She is predeceased by her beloved brother Bill. 

As per her request a private family celebration of her life will be held at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to NOVA Hudson.
