L’Île-Perrot
1938-2022
It is with heavy hearts that we announce that on April 22nd, 2022 at the age of 83, Mrs. Joyce Rozon Daoust wife of the late Mr. Yves Daoust, passed away at the Suroît Regional Hospital in Valleyfield.
Mom lived her final days surrounded by her 3 children at her side, and her devoted sisters who saw that she had all she needed during her lengthy stays at the hospital these last 8 months. It is good that we shared stories as she listened, made comments and held our hands to let us know it was ok. She had a private moment with each of her grandchildren before she passed, and this is a gift they will cherish forever. She was so proud of them. In their words, Grandma went on her terms, and she was ready. She’s with Grandpa now.
To the very end, our mother showed us how to be strong, courageous, how to persevere and how to love and have empathy for others. She instilled in us these values and lived them every day. Thank you, Mom, for being the Best Mom and our Best Friend.
She will be greatly missed by her children Marc, Manon (Michael) and Chantal (Ken), her grandchildren Maxime (Julie), Vincent (Maryena), Marie-Laurence (Christopher), Alexander, Nathan (Véronique) and Nicholas, her great grandson Mason, her sisters Pauline and Carole (Michel) as well as nieces and nephews, her sister-in-law and brother-in-law.
Joyce leaves behind not only her family, but also dear friends she called “family” and an entourage who shared in her passions; from her knitting group to the bowling league, and from l’Âge d’Or to her girlfriends she called “les Vieilles Sacoches”.
We are also so grateful for all the support and love shown to our Mom by the staff from the Centre de readaptation Les Cotonniers as well as the respect from the nurses, attendants and doctors at the Suroît Regional Hospital as she left us with dignity on Friday morning.
Condolences can be shared at www.maisonfuneraireroussin.com and a gathering to celebrate her life will take place at a later date in Île-Perrot.
