Helen Tidball Nash, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at 90 on May 19, 2024. Born on August 8, 1933, in Buenos Aires, Helen lived a full, inspiring life marked by dedication to family, friends, and causes.
A longtime resident of Hudson, Quebec, Helen was known for her warm smile, generous spirit, and unwavering kindness. She married her sweetheart, Guy Nash, and raised three children, Leslie, Laura, and Mark, in Montreal, instilling in them values of hard work, integrity, and compassion. Helen cherished her grandchildren, Lia, Jeremy, Eric, and Helena, sharing her wisdom and love with them.
Helen actively supported Greenpeace, Doctors Without Borders, Amnesty International, the Council of Canadians, and the Red Cross. She volunteered at the Mission Hall, serving the community's hungry. Helen's passion for service and dedication to making a difference were evident in everything she did.
Helen loved history, gardening, reading, and cooking. Her garden and homemade flans and empanadas were family favorites. Survived by her partner Doug Sirrs, her children Leslie and his fiancée Cherie, Laura and her husband Richard, Mark and his fiancée Aldi, grandchildren Lia, Jeremy, Eric and Helena, and an intrepid cat named Guapo, Helen's spirit lives on.
A memorial will be held on May 22, 2024, at her home. Donations to NOVA Hudson are welcome in her honor.
