Pincourt
1938 – 2023
On February 22, 2023, Elizabeth Dachuk McCracken peacefully passed away at the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Residence in Hudson, QC.
Born October 17, 1938 in Winnipeg Manitoba, Elizabeth was a long-time resident of Pincourt, QC where she spent 50 years as a nurse at the Montreal Children’s Hospital and the Ste. Anne’s Veterans Hospital. An avid skier and lover of animals, Elizabeth volunteered at the EcoMuseum Zoo in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue and enjoyed lawn bowling, playing bridge, spending time with her sorority sisters and taking care of her boys James and Kelly. She was a long-time parishioner at Saint Patrick of the Island Catholic Church.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her Mother Mary Karpyshyn and her Father Prokip Dachuk as well as her brother Archie Bessalaere (wife Helen), stepsister Jean Eklund (husband Olie), and stepbrother Sam Zdril (wife Alice). She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Ken McCracken of Pincourt, QC; her children James McCracken of Waskaganish, QC and Kelly McCracken (partner Melanie Anderson) of Ottawa, ON; and cousin Caroline Ashley of Calgary, AB.
Family visitation will take place on March 5, 2023 from 10am - 2pm at Maison Funéraire Roussin, 12 Ave Saint-Charles in Vaudreuil-Dorion. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Elizabeth’s memory to the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Foundation (mspvs.org).
