Mr. Bernard (Bernie) Marshall Connell

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Bernard (Bernie) Marshall Connell on December 24, 2025 at 12:20AM, at the age of 60.

Bernie was truly one of a kind. He was a great guy who was loved by everyone he met—because anyone who met Bernie quickly became his friend. He had a contagious laugh, a warm heart, and a way of making people feel instantly at ease. His kindness, humour, and generosity left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Bernie was a devoted and loving husband to his spouse, Suzan Connell (Dalphy), and a proud Dad to the children he loved very much: Mykaela George (Kyle Bentley), Katelyn George (Thomas Igaz), Dylan George, and Jaime Galera.

He was also a cherished grandfather to five grandchildren. Grumpa to Morgan Bentley, Owen Marshall Bentley, Marlow Bentley. Bah to Weston Igaz and Trevor Igaz. Who were truly the jewels in his eyes and brought him immense joy.

He is also lovingly remembered by his cousin Patricia Maguire and her wife Sherri Thorne, along with many extended family members, friends, and colleagues whose lives he touched.

Together, Bernie, Sue and his son-in-law, Tom, built Deneigement SBC  (Sue.Bernie.Connell.), growing it from a one-tractor operation into a thriving company.  Sue, Tom and Dylan will proudly continue the company, ensuring it carries on with the same excellent reputation, dedication, and integrity that Bernie worked so hard to build, honoring his legacy for years to come.

Bernie’s legacy is one of love, laughter, friendship, and dedication to his family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Bernie’s memory to the Cedar Cancer Centre at the MUHC Hospital.
